2007
Kamalini pilot centre in Shahpur Jat, near Siri Fort

Began with one teacher who profiled the education status of the girls and invited families to send their daughters to study. Kamalini opened for classes in April 2007 in two rented rooms in Shahpur Jat Village, near Siri Fort in South Delhi. Within one year the facility had to expand to meet the growing demand.

2008
Kamalini in Kishangarh, near Vasant Kunj

Was launched in August 2008, following new community surveys.

2009
Kamalini organizes outreach programmes to rural areas of South Delhi and obtains funds for the land purchase of a campus of its own

2010
The Big Break: Kamalini's New Campus Project on Sohna Road

This initiative is jointly taken up by Educational and Development Initiatives (EDI) and Protsahan charitable trust, for which EDI acquired 5 acres of land on Gurgaon-Sohna Road. The new campus on completion, will meet the growing demand of training and development of skills for under-privileged women of the National Capital Region.

2011
Kamalini gets approval from Delhi Government

Under the Technical Education & Community Outreach Scheme (TECOS), certificate courses in Basic Cooking and Cutting & Tailoring is conducted in the Kishangarh centre.

2012
Kamalini gains zoning approval and breaks ground in November

2013
Construction of the new Kamalini Campus

2014
Targeted opening of new Kamalini Campus
